
He launched the modern age of electricity as President of the first electric company, ConEd. Mr. Trask backed John Moody in starting the first credit rating service, today the foundation for the world financial markets. Mr. Trask was a majority shareholder and first Chairman of The New York Times, arguably the most influential publication in the world. As a member of the founding Executive Committee, Mr. Trask also helped start what became the most valuable and profitable company in history — General Electric.
One hundred years later, the ripple effects of Mr. Trask’s belief in entrepreneurs is still lighting up the world, touching virtually every human being of the last century.
